Journalists, Ohanaeze Celebrates Iwuanyanwu At 80, as Jonathan, Afenifere, Arewa Grace Event in Owerri

The Correspondents' Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Imo State Chapter and the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide will Saturday, September 3, 2022 celebrate a Nigerian Icon and former political heavy weight, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu as he turns 80 years.
 
The ceremony which is billed at the Imo Concorde Hotel, Owerri as part of a week programme lined up to honour the celebrant is also expected to be graced by the leadership of various regional socio-political and cultural organizations, such as the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Afenifere and Arewa groups.
 
Highlight of the celebration will be a public lecture in honour of Chief Iwuanyanwu  with the title: “Igbo Quest for Nigeria’s Unity” to  be delivered by an erudite Scholar and former President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Dr. John Nnia Nwodo, Jnr. Nwodo who had served Nigeria in many capacities was former Minister of Aviation,  Minister of Information,  Special Adviser to President Shehu Shagari, and presently Coordinator Southern/Middle Belt Forum.   
 
It is also expected that the event would be chaired by His Excellency Dr. Goodluck Johanatha, GCFR, former President Federal Republic of Nigeria with his wife, Dame Patience Jonathan, as Mother of the Day. 
 
It is also expected that Nigeria's great leaders such as the National Leader of PANDEF, Chief Edwin Clark; National Leader of Afenifere,  Ayo Adebanjo; National Chairman of PANDEF, Sen. Emmanuel Ibok Essien; National Chairman of Arewa Consultative Forum, Chief Audu Ogbeh;  Dr. Bitrus Pogu of Middle Belt Forum;  President-General of Ohanaeze  Ndigbo Worldwide, Prof. George Obiozor; and Prof. Ango Abdullahi, National Chairman of Northern Elders Forum, would be present to make their contributions to the way forward for Nigeria’s unity. 
 
Chairman of the Correspondents’ Chapel, Mr. Chris Njoku therefore invites all Patrons, Stakeholders, Captains of Industries, Party Chieftains, men and women of goodwill,  friends and well-wishers of the Chapel from all parts of Nigeria and beyond to the Lecture Series organised by the Chapel as part of activities marking the 80th birthday of a Living Legend.
