"Looking at the old Nekede Road, the Zoological Gardens, the Catholic University, Federal Polytechnic and the greater number of people living in the areas have all suffered hardships as a result of the bad road. No road to old Nekede Community is in good and motorable condition. That's why we are pleading with our governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma to come and do his usual magic in our own road as he has shown capable to revitalize road infrastructure in the state, Orlu Owerri , Owerri Okigwe roads respectively. Even some Owerri hinterlands are not left out, so many of them too numerous to mention but above all Old Nekede Road is more important to us," Madoka pleaded.
Contributing, Amb. Onuabuchi Nkwozima, Chairman Umualum Nekede Frontiers said that the roads in his Nekede Community have remained nightmare, impassable and death traps over three years now.
"we have suffered. This is the popular Douglas Road linking Owerri Zoological Gardens to Federal Polytechnic and other parts of the Owerri West Local Government Area. As you can see. we are cut off. It's very impossible to pass during the rain. We are calling on our governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma to come and help us by rehabilitating of the road. We are tired to be using our road for campaigns by politicians," Nkwozima said.
