PL August Awards: Unplayable Halland clinches Best player as Arteta comes up Top for Managers



The premier League on Friday 16 Semptember announced it's August winner's of various Categories, which included The best Manager, Best player and the best goal of the previous month of August.

Manager 



Mikel Arteta clinched the Manager of the Month winning the award for the third time.


The 40-year-old became only the second Arsenal manager after Arsene Wenger to start a season with five straight Premier League victories.

His sides strong start to the season saw them score 13 goals and are at to the top of the table with a maximum of 15 points.


Arteta's latest Manager of the Month award follows his previous successes in September 2021 and March 2022.


He claimed his latest prize, beating Antonio Conte, Pep Guardiola, Graham Potter and Marco Silva, after votes from the public were combined with those of a panel of experts.


Best Player 



Unarguably the best player last month Haaland wins the award after a historic first month with Manchester City in the Premier League.


The summer signing scored against West Ham United, Newcastle United, Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest, and got an assist in his other appearance, against AFC Bournemouth.


His nine goals in his first five appearances were the most in the competition's history, breaking the record of eight previously held by Mick Quinn and Sergio Aguero.


The 22-year-old also become only the sixth player to score hat-tricks in consecutive Premier League appearances, doing so against Palace and Forest to be the first to achieve the feat since Harry Kane in 2017.


Haaland is the first player to win the award in his first month in the competition since Bruno Fernandes did so for Manchester United in February 2020.


The Norway international topped an eight-man shortlist also including Pascal Gross, Gabriel Jesus, Aleksandar Mitrovic, Martin Odegaard, Nick Pope, Rodrigo and Wilfried Zaha.

Best Goal



Whereas Allan Saint-Maximin's stunning volley for Newcastle United at Wolverhampton Wanderers was voted the August Budweiser Goal of the Month. 


Saint-Maximin met Hwang Hee-chan's high clearance with a first-time effort from the edge of the box that flew past goalkeeper Jose Sa before he could react.


Saint-Maximin's effort topped an eight-goal shortlist after votes from the public were combined with those of a panel of experts. 


It is the first time the Frenchman has won a Premier League monthly award, and it gives Newcastle successive Budweiser Goal of the Month awards, after Miguel Almiron won the final one of last season for his solo strike against Crystal palace.
