Juliet Awa-Obasi, a former representative, has expressed interest in running for governor of Imo State in 2024 on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In the House of Representatives from 2003 to 2007 and again from 2007 to 2011, Obasi served as the representative for the Isu, Nwangele, Nkwerre, and Njaba Federal Constituency.

At an occasion where she officially announced her candidacy yesterday in Owerri, Obasi said she would perform better than Governor Hope Uzodimma if elected.

She promised the populace that she was ready to improve the state's administration, provide strong governance and leadership, and provide a level playing field for all parties involved, including its residents.

Though Uzodimma is on the right track and has some nice ideas, the Imo people want more from a lady who has persevered in challenging circumstances.

I am capable and have the vision to serve as Imo's selfless leader.

"I want to ask the Imo people to support a lady who has fresh ideas. a woman with expertise in many facets of life, including serving as a member of the House of Representatives. I have both lived in and traveled outside of Nigeria. As a result, the Imo people currently need a leader like me.
