An
independently organized group known as Ihedioha Re-election Movement has
wrapped up her zonal consultative tour across the nine local government areas
of IMO State. The tour which kickstarted with Ezinihite LGA, touched Ahiazu
Mbaise, Aboh Mbaise, Ngor Okpala, Mbaitolu and Ikeduru LGAs. The ship of the
movement also sailed to Owerri North, Owerri Municipal and anchored at Owerri
West.
Leading
the movement, the convener, Sir Bon Unachukwu reeled out the numerous
achievements of Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha during his short stint as governor of Imo
State for seven months. He noted that Imo state experienced a positive touch in
sectors like Education, Health, Finance, Economy, Infrastructure, Security
among others.
“When
Ihedioha was governor, many people didn’t have need to relocate or even visit
the urban cities because the local governments were functioning and local
economy was booming. His government brought good governance closer to the
people in the rural areas, this is what government is all about.”... he stated.
Other
speakers during the tour which includes the Secretary of the Movement, Chief
Henry Ekpe, former members of Imo State House of Assembly Hon Oliver Enwerenem
and Chief Mike Iheanaetu also stated that the reason why majority of Owerri
Zone people are seeking for Ihedioha to be re-elected is because he is the best
bet that can rescue Imo State from the maladministration of the ruling
APC.
“When it
time for popping champagne or swindling activities, we know those to call; but
when it is time for governance and serious business, we look for people like
Ihedioha.” “When it is time for serious contest, people step in their best
foot; in this case, Ihedioha is our best foot and we are urging him to answer
