BREAKING: Emefiele Allegedly May Flee Nigeria Before Tinubu’s Inauguration

 


There are intrigues that point to the direction that Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, is alleged to have concluded arrangements to leave the country before May 29.


It was learnt that President Muhammadu Buhari has granted the Central Bank governor study leave.


Allegations of wide spread of corruption, terrorism-financing, etc points towards Emefiele are major reasons he may be fleeing the country before Buhari leaves office on May 29.


The Department of State Services (DSS) recently accused Emefiele of sabotaging the economy, financing terrorism and committing other economic crimes.


The secret police had also attempted to arrest and detain Emefiele in the past over the allegations against him.


It was reported that the DSS would not be happy if the CBN governor evade fleesnthe country thereby invading justice.


The DSS had also claimed that their preliminary investigation revealed various acts of terrorism financing, fraudulent activities perpetrated by Emefiele and his involvement in economic crimes of national security dimension including mismanaging the CBN subsidiary, NISRAL, and the central bank’s Anchor Borrowers Programme.
