The Managing Director of the Anambra Imo River Basin Development Authority (AIRBDA), Gerald Osuagwu has been reappointment to head the establishment for another four years.

Osuagwu whose tenure elapsed on June 2, 2023 got a reappointment letter from the office of the former Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF) in approval by the immediate past President Muhammad Buhari before leaving office.

His resumption of work on Friday however doused every speculations of his exit from the establishment as he was treated to a heroic welcome by the staffers carrying placards with inscriptions such as "Welcome Mr Project, Welcome Mr Due process, Good Administrator, Team Player, we love you."

Addressing the staffers after being ushered into his office, Osuagwu promised them of a good working relationship even as he vowed not to segregate among them.

He said "We are starting afresh, we've learnt our lessons, coming four years would be better, I'm a human being, we're here to move the authority forward, there should be no segregation.

"Whisper to me whatever you think that will make the authority to grow, I'm just your leader not your boss, I will always maintain that open door policy, I urge you all to work as one family. What I desire is peace, we can't work in factions, let's work as a team.

"I can't do the job alone, collectively we would do the job. I call for synergy among all the departments. I thank you for your  cooperation which  earned me the best Managing Director award last year, it will spur me into greater action," Osuagwu vows.

He stressed that from the first day he was appointed to head the established which of course was so surprised to him, he did not lobby for the job but gave all glory to God.
