It is no longer news that the palace of the traditional ruler of Ogberuru ancient kingdom in Orlu local government of Imo State, His royal highness, Eze Ugonna Ukachukwu Iriele was set ablaze by unknown persons, but what is news is that the palace was burnt as a result of mistakenly identity.
The incident which occured in the early hours of Sunday September 10, 2023 had all the four buildings including the ancestral home that belonged to the great grand father of the monarch used as relics, main palace that was recently built and the boys quarter.
Our correspondent gathered from a source that the hoodlums destroyed the edifice and burnt it down because of an alleged act which the hoodlums felt was done by the monarch without carrying out their proper investigation.
When contacted, the victim who didn't want to comment on the issue, however, denied being the monarch the hoodlums accused of performing the said function recently which the hoodlums stated in their video.
He not only expressed shock at the ugly incident but was left in a state of confusion since he had lived a quite life all the time.
The sprawling palace was not only burnt but vandalised before setting it ablaze by the perpetrators of the heinous act.
