Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal has again threw shade at President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The latter had earlier come under the attack of Lawal who among other unfavourable remarks asked him to turn in his resignation over the certificate forgery saga, saying, “But this, notwithstanding, I believe he still has time and opportunity to save himself this public humiliation and embarrassment to his person, both locally and internationally by resigning so that he can give more attention to his health.”
On Wednesday the ex-SGF pilloried the President for the lingering detention of Ex-Central Bank of Nigeria governor, Godwin Emefiele, and former Economic and Financial Crimes Commission Chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa.
His word, “If Bola Tinubu claims he fought Abacha on the side of democracy and free speech, it is unbecoming and unacceptable that the NBC should threaten journalists under his watch.
“It is indefensible to keep the EFCC Chairman and the CBN governor under arrest for extended periods of time without or before trial, just as it is also unacceptable that political parties are used to intimidate and harass citizens exercising their opinions in the public domain.”
