FGC Okigwe Old Students Association Elect Anyanwu As President *Calls for Unity, Promises To Champion Development in the school



The Federal Government College Okigwe Old Students Association (FEGOCOOKOSA) has elected Chief Peter Chinatu Anyanwu as their new President.


The election which was held at Sandralia Hotel Jabi, Abuja to mark the Association's 12th National Convention  with the theme: 'Beyond Boundaries' saw the Obowo, Imo State-born accountant emerging unopposed as the new President for the next two years.



Chief Anyanwu who holds doctor of Philosophy (PhD) is a Fellow Certified National Accountant  (FCNA) and he is the Imo state representative in the board of Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN).


In his acceptance speech he expressed his gratitude to the members for finding him worthy to lead the association and calls for their support so as to enable him achieve his five points objectives: fostering unity, giving back to the school, mentorship and scholarship, networking and community services.


The excited President of the Old students appealed to the other executives and members to share his vision of stronger and more vibrant Alumni Association.


He said their alma mater (Federal Government College Okigwe) has been instrumental in shaping their lives and values.


According to him, as we gather here in the heart of our great nation, let us remember the values we learned at Federal Government College Okigwe - discipline, excellence, and unity. Let these principles guide us as we embark on this journey together.


Federal Government College Okigwe which is among the Unity schools in Nigeria was founded in 1977.


The Old Students Association of the College have been contributing immensely in the development of the school as a way of giving back to their alma mater such as building of hostels, street lights, boreholes and reroofing.
