Imo Police Round Up Kidnappers Operating In FUTO-Ihiagwa-Avu Bush, Discover Decomposing Corspes

 


The Imo State Police Command led by its agile Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma has rounded up five alleged kidnappers operating inside the FUTO-Ihiagwa-Avu bushes who pretend to be Cattle rearers.


The police action which took place on Monday was a quick response by the video clips made by the Imo State Hunters Association members who discovered the illicit act being perpetrated by the alleged Fulani herdsmen in the bush along Futo-Avu-Ihiagwa and its environs.



In a release by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Henry Okoye "acting on credible intelligence, operatives of the Imo State Police Command Special Tactical Unit led by the Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma in synergy with some local hunters stormed a suspected kidnapper’s hideout in a forest between Avu and Ihiagwa, on 29/01/2024 and arrested of 5 suspected kidnappers.


"The  names of the kidnappers are; Muazu Awuta, 30 ‘m’ yrs, Abdullahi Abubakar, ‘m’ 32yrs, Ozeru Sabo ‘m’ 25yrs, Saddam Suleiman, ‘m’ 27yrs, Bashir Yahaya, ‘m’, 28yrs all of Jau LGA of Jigawa State. 



"The suspects are currently undergoing investigation and have provided useful information to the Police that will lead to the arrest of other syndicates at large.


"On combing the forest, two decomposing unidentified corpses suspected to be kidnapped victims and other items like telephones, wristwatches, shoes, and slippers were recovered. 


"The command intends to carry out further DNA confirmatory test to ascertain the identity of the deceased. Five operational motorcycles of the suspected kidnappers were also recovered.


"Intense operation is still ongoing in the forest and other identified black spots with the aim of stamping out all forms of crime and criminality in the State," he stated.


Meanwhile, the Imo State Police Command has condemned the barbaric attack  and senseless acts of violence in totality of the killing of a policeman and two other innocent civilians at Ohio Junction on Monday by unknown gunmen. 


The Commissioner of Police without wasting time deployed the Command’s Tactical Team to go all out in synergy with other sister security agencies to hunt down the hoodlums responsible for the attack and killing of one Police officer and two civilians along Owerri-Orlu road on 29/1/2024. 


"The CP vowed that no stone will be left unturned in ensuring that the perpetrators are all arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law. 


"While pray for the repose souls of the deceased, the CP calls on well-meaning residents of Imo State who may have any useful information that may lead to the arrest of the hoodlums responsible for the attack to kindly report at the nearest Police State or via the Command emergency line 08034773600 or 08098880197


"Let us collaboratively work towards stamping out all forms of violent crime in the State," the PPRO said.
