A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State, Mr. Uche Obiozor has commended the Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma for his effort in maintaining a crime-free 2023 yuletide and and the new year celebrations in the State.
In the same vein, Obiozor also praised the the security agencies in the State for working round the clock to ensure adequate security of lives and property within the festive period under review.
He stated that Imo sons and daughters and their friends from far and near, including those in the Diaspora came in their numbers to celebrate with their loved ones in and around Imo State without any unfortunate news of security breach.
Ex-raying the situation in a chart with newsmen in Owerri, Obiozor however, thanked the people of the State for responding positively to the pleas of the Governor to have a seamless Christmas and New Year Celebrations for the overall benefit of the State, her people and numerous visitors.
According to him, the governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma has indeed shown capacity and ingenuity to transform the State, especially in his vow not to relent in his second term to make the State one of the best in the provision of good health care, quality education, road infrastructure, human and capital development, etc.
"I must express my gratitude to the governor, the Imo State Police Commissioner and his team, other security agencies and the good people of the State for working harmoniously to achieve a crime-free festive season," he said.
Responding to a question, Obiozor described the new year kidnap of the former Chairman of the State Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Samuel Ohiri in his palace at Orodo in Mbaitoli local government of the State as "very unfortunate" and prayed for his release by those who did the act.
He appealed to Imolites to continue to have faith and support the administration of Governor Hope Uzodimma in his quest to sustain the security and give the State a new direction of good governance full of democratic dividends.
