Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has unveiled the new emblem and logo for the state.
In a Facebook post shared by the Deputy Chief of staff to the governor, Hon. Chinedu Okeke on Thursday, he said the old logo needed to be changed to enhance the state’s brand identity.
According to him, the old one was just images lifted from corel draw and clip arts.
Okeke revealed that the new one was designed by world renowned heraldic designers.
“If you check it, you’ll see that it stands out like the national crests of most advanced countries”, he explained.
Okeke also disclosed that the design of the new Abia logo did not cost the government anything.
The new logo features a stylized letter “A” made up of two curved lines, which could represent the state’s name and the idea of unity and togetherness.
The colors used are also significant, with green representing fertility and abundance, while white symbolizes peace and purity.
It also features an eagle perched atop a shield, with the state’s motto “God’s Own State” inscribed below.
The eagle is a powerful symbol of strength, courage and pride, while the shield represents protection and defense.
The motto reinforces the state’s belief in divine guidance and blessings.
