WHY TINUBU’S PUBLIC FALL ON DEMOCRACY DAY IS A BIG DEAL IN OUR NATION’S HISTORY

Today (June 12, 2024), is Democracy Day, when Nigerians take solemn stock of how democracy got murdered on this day, when MKO Abiola’s projected election as President, was consciously annulled by Nigeria’s Military President, General Ibrahim Gbadomosi Babangida, years ago.

Nigerians experienced a similar disappointing episode between February and March, 2023.

Very well, however, under the current political climate, Tinubu’s fall on the occasion of Democracy Day, has deep spiritual significance and portends  a mysterious revelation about his political future, since he allegedly got himself imposed on Nigerians.

Today’s fall is not the first time. Recall that he also felled on the day (May 29, 2023 ), he hastened his inauguration in office as President, when his election was questionable and challenged at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, which later did his bidding, after being induced and compromised.

There’s nothing wrong falling by accident, which’s very common among the elderly.

Why this underlying fall is generating much fuss and news, is due to the timing, the occasion, and the national and global audience that witnessed it, instinctively probing why the man, whose election generated fierce criticisms, legal challenge and opposition, despite the gamut of compelling evidence and odds against him, yet he dared all Nigerians and hanged on that hottest seat, where uneasy head that wears the crown lies.

Unfortunately, again, Tinubu’s fall happened at a period his approval rating among Nigerians plummeted at rock bottom level and at an unusual time he’s grinding an ax with Nigerian Workers under the banner of NLC, TUC, etc, as he kept mum and said nothing on Workers’ Minimum Wage, as well as the fate of Nnamdi Kanu’s unconditional freedom, including his apparent inability and failure to address the problem of insecurity and the worrisome state of the nation, that’s generally responsible for the lull of social and economic lives of Nigerians, who hate Tinubu with passion.

Besides the Humpty Dumpty Fall , the man at the center of the national disgrace, has a bitter score to settle with Nigerians, who are still outraged at what he did to them and our democracy.

Tinubu's case with Nigerians, can only be settled by God Almighty and no longer the Supreme Court of Nigeria, which is already in his pockets for keeps.

Even if Tinubu spends donkey years in the Presidency, there will be no meeting point and path for peace with Nigerians.

The electoral atrocities of 2023 , have become life time stigmata on him, after all he did with his paid agents, to short change Nigerians and undermine their democratic mandate.

Recall all that transpired at the 2023 Elections, which would hardly be forgotten and forgiven, couple with the unbearable living conditions of Nigerians, since over one year, their mandate was boldly robbed and stolen, without the slightest improvement in their predicament.

That presidential fall has become an albatross, which has compelled Nigerians to remember things they thought forgotten about Tinubu, which the fall now re-echoed with unsympathetic pessimism.

If an incident such as Tinubu’s fall happened on a remarkable day such as Democracy Day, it would certainly generate fuss and many unanswered questions.

What if it happened on a different public setting or if someone else had taken the fall, would it attract such attention and reactions?

The job of President is not a bread and butter, amala and ewedu soup or suya-kilishi joke.

There’s no question, the task must be overwhelming and weighing down on President Tinubu, given the enormous challenges of age, cognitive health and wellness, the burdensome yoke of the nation’s hydra headed problems in his shoulders, which he never thought of, before taking a plunge in attaining his political ambition on the Emilokan credo.

It was President Barrack Obama, the 44th President of the United States, who in his early 50s, when he became President, acknowledged the fact, that the job of President, is a “tough one.”

Tinubu hasn’t seen anything yet. He’s inclined to have more falls, if he fails to listen to the impulse of his body and leave honorably, before another fall.

While it’s easy for a child or younger person to go through bone realignment and fixing, older adults could hardly expect an easy fix of their broken bones, due to differences in age and physiological conditions.

The time to abdicate, resign, quit and step down, is when the ovation is loudest.

Having attained his political ambition of becoming President in the Emilokan Plot, one may ask about what else does Tinubu want, including strategizing and planning for an uncertain second term, when the next 3 years, would be too challenging for Tinubu and his government?

We all have had enough of rubbish at all levels of our national life, putting the wellbeing of the suffering population at greater risk.

Tinubu’s mum and failure in avoiding making a decisive statement on Workers’ Minimum Wage, addressing Nnamdi Kanu’s matter, insecurity as an issue of National Emergency, is collaterally destructive to his image and the image of his government, which inevitably underscore and highlight the issue of his fall in full public glare, as a national embarrassment.

It’s not that whatever we write or say, will change Tinubu’s mind, until Mother Nature and God Almighty teach him a lifetime lesson he would never forget.

The best way to teach one who’s stubborn and inattentive, is to allow the person to experience what he’s been guided to avoid.

Experience is not only the best teacher, it’s the ONLY teacher. People of Tinubu’s generation and age, are difficult to deal with.

While we wish him well, we hope that he could use his remaining years to turn a new leaf, change for good and give his life to God in total repentance, so as to make it to heaven, after these earthly struggles and hard ball politics.

May the Lord touch his heart to make the right decision for his own good and for the good of our country.
