DHQ Tells Asari Dokubo: You Don’t Have Capacity To Bring Down Military Aircraft

The Defence Headquarters has officially responded to a viral video in which ex-Niger Delta militant, Asari Dokubo, claimed he had the capacity to bring down military aircraft allegedly seen hovering over his house during the recent Rivers State local government elections.

Dokubo had boasted, “The federal government knows that I have the capacity to bring down any aircraft.”

In a swift reaction, Major General Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, dismissed Dokubo’s comments, calling them “laughable” and insisting that Dokubo was merely “blabbing.”

According to Buba, Dokubo lacks the capability to challenge or take down any military aircraft.

He emphasized that the military remains professional and strictly operates within the framework of democracy.

Buba also clarified that various security agencies utilize aircraft for national security operations and that the military’s actions are governed by professional standards.

He noted that it is up to relevant authorities to decide on appropriate actions regarding Dokubo’s statements.

  1. It is both laughable and utterly disappointing that the military high command in Nigeria is just responding to Asari Dokubos' treasonous comments so long after those threatening comments. Even then, the response is both cold and of no effect. Trading words with such a person casts aspersions on the capacity of the Nigerian military. Such a cold and ineffectual response suggests that there is an unholy romance between the military high command and Asari Dokubo,, hence the slap on the wrist type of response from the Nigerian Armed Forces. Recall what Dokubo had done in recent memory, when he matched with a show of force around the Federal capital territory, boasting of his capacity, connection and invincibility. Nothing was said or done to him. He's has doubled down with this claim of his capacity to bring down a military aircraft, and all the military high command could say was that he was just, "blabbing." Indeed, there is more to this than meets the eye; let's us all open our eyes, widely.
