Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett urged Israel to seize what he described as the country’s “greatest opportunity in 50 years” to dismantle Iran’s nuclear program and cripple its regime.
In a forceful statement on his verified Twitter account, Bennett criticized Iran's leadership, claiming they had made a "terrible mistake" by provoking Israel, which he says now faces a critical moment to reshape the Middle East.
Bennett's statement focused on the need to strike Iran's central infrastructure, including its nuclear program and energy facilities, to weaken the regime he referred to as a "terrorist octopus." He highlighted the role of Iran’s proxies, such as Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis, accusing Iran of orchestrating attacks through these groups while its leaders remained protected in Tehran. According to Bennett, “the octopus’s tentacles are temporarily paralyzed—now comes the head.”
He emphasized that the current moment presents an unprecedented chance not only to safeguard Israel’s future but also to provide the Iranian people with the opportunity to overthrow what he described as a tyrannical regime. Bennett called for swift and decisive military action, arguing that Israel has both the moral justification and the military capacity to act.
Bennett’s comments come at a time of heightened tensions between Israel and Iran, as missile strikes and military engagements escalate.
