US Election Result:  Republican candidate Donald Trump on his way to his decisive victory in the critical US presidential race. His opponent, Kamala Harris, is trailing and has even cancelled her speech, which was scheduled for tonight (US time). So far, Trump has secured victories in 27 states, while Harris has won 19.


Ballot counting continues in the remaining states, with Trump leading in most of them.


A candidate needs 270 of 538 electoral votes to win the presidency.
