The General Manager of Imo Transport Company Limited (ITC), Mr. Uche Obiozor has been commended for bringing life to the once moribund State transport company through his wide experience in managing similar ventures over the time.
A group known as the Igbo Journalists Association (IJA), an affiliate to Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide made this observation when the group carried a random check on the Company on Monday.
The National President of IJA, Sir Amby Uneze gave a clean bill of achievement to the General Manager of the company for carrying out a comprehensive sanitization of the establishment which has no doubt placed the transport company among the leading firms in the industry in Nigeria.
The group, however, eulogized Obiozor for ridding the company of stealing and pilfering of commuter's belongings as in the case of the waybill unit where six tablets belonging to a customer who way-billed them were allegedly missing recently.
Among the new measures brought into the system by the general manager included prompt payment of salaries, workers paying serious attention to their duties, vehicle owners getting their revenue as at when due, and a lot of other ingenuity targeted at making the place the pride of the State.
Uneze expressed satisfaction on the choice by His Excellency, the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma (The Infrastructure Governor of the Year) in the appointment of Obiozor to the saddle, adding that with the way things are turning around in the establishment, ITC remains the best managed State transport company in Nigeria.
