Regular Flag-off/Distribution Of Solar Powered Street Lights Evidence That NDDC Is Doing Well In Imo State

By Comrade Temple Izu Dikeocha

The people of Imo State has observed that the frequent distribution/regular flag-off of solar powered street light in Imo State is an evidence that the reinvigorated Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) is up and doing in the State.

The rejigging of the NDDC with a stable management headed by Dr Samuel Ogbuku and a board chaired by Mr Chiedu Ebie with Hon Dr Kyrian C Uchegbu (PhD) serving as Imo State Rep in the 7th Governing Board of NDDC seems to have succeeded in restoring back the lost confidence of the people of the oil region in NDDC.

The frequent inauguration and successful commissioning of solar-powered streetlights in Imo has now marked the NDDC as a very busy agency in the State.

The constant flag-off and distribution of solar powered streetlights in Imo State to different communities is a testimony to the fact that NDDC is actually living up to its mandate of facilitating the rapid development of the Niger Delta region.

Imolites therefore commend the NDDC board and management especially the Imo State Rep, Hon Dr Kyrian C Uchegbu for responding appropriately to the directives of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s charge of delivering impactful and well meaning projects in the Niger Delta region.

Those who once disagreed with Imolites for defending the present board of NDDC now know better. The Commission in Imo State must therefore be allowed to work for Niger Deltans without being distracted by unwarranted calls of sectionalism, marginization or allegations of neglect. The Ministry of Regional Development is against such distraction because NDDC is doing well in all its constituent state which is in line with the directives of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

It is true that the Ministry of Regional Development have enabled the NDDC to operate efficiently in Imo State and Imolites therefore appeal to the Minister of Regional Development Hon Engr Abubakar Momoh to continue to give the NDDC budgets the required attention it deserves to enable the Commission to continue to meet up and fulfil all its mandate and obligations in the State.

The regular inauguration and Flagging Off of solar powered street lights in Imo State is a reflection of the President Tinubu administration’s desire to transform the Niger Delta region.

The NDDC have continued to ensure that any solar powered street light project it embarked upon in Imo State is timely delivered and completed in line with President Bola Tinubu’s directive to complete all ongoing projects.

In Imo State, the NDDC State Rep, Hon Dr Kyrian C Uchegbu has remained commited and dedicated to the mandate given to the NDDC by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to transform and change the narrative in Nigeria’s oil-producing region and Imolites must be encouraged to support the Commission and not engage in pull him down syndrome which has deterred Development in the region in the past.

It is true that given the superlative achievements recorded by the present board of the Commission in less than two years in office, the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu is prepared and ready  to offer more support needed for the NDDC to succeed in Imo State.

Imolites are therefore happy that their NDDC State Rep is seriously committed in implementing impactful projects that will further enhance economic activities and positively impact the lives of Niger Deltans in Imo State and we are therefore glad the NDDC is up and doing in Imo State.
