At Last, Senate Grants Natasha Access Into NASS Premises, Unseals Office

The National Assembly has reopened the office of suspended Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, signaling that her rift with Senate President Godswill Akpabio may be nearing resolution.

The Sergeant-at-Arms, backed by security personnel, on Tuesday unsealed her office (Room 205) in the Senate wing, allowing her access to the National Assembly complex once again.

This development clears the path for Natasha to possibly resume her legislative duties on October 7, 2025. It was reliably learnt that the decision was reached at Monday’s Senate leadership meeting. At the plenary, the Minority Leader, Senator Abba Moro (PDP, Benue South), is expected to move a motion for her to apologise, which will then be seconded and adopted.

Natasha was handed a six-month suspension in March after clashing with Akpabio over the reassignment of her seat during plenary on February 20, 2025. Though her suspension officially lapsed in September, she had remained unable to return due to lingering legal hurdles and resistance from Senate leadership.
