Nigeria Police To Recruit 50,000 Constables – Portal Opens Next Week, Application Is FREE

 


The Police Service Commission (PSC) has officially launched the recruitment portal for 50,000 Police Constables into the Nigeria Police Force (NPF). As directed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, aims to significantly expand the force's manpower while prioritizing transparency and merit in the selection process.


The PSC, in partnership with the NPF, emphasized that the exercise will be conducted seamlessly and credibly, inviting qualified Nigerians to apply online starting next week. "This recruitment is a pivotal step toward strengthening internal security and fostering a more responsive police service," the PSC stated in its official announcement. By injecting fresh talent into the ranks, the program is expected to enhance operational efficiency and public trust in law enforcement across the country.


 Who Can Apply? Key Eligibility Highlights

The recruitment is open to two main cadres: General Duty and Specialists. Applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth and meet stringent physical, medical, and psychological fitness standards. Here's a quick breakdown:


- General Duty Cadre:


  - Educational Requirement: Minimum of five credits in GCE Ordinary Level, SSCE/NECO, or equivalent (including English Language and Mathematics) in no more than two sittings.


  - Age: 18–25 years.


  - Height: At least 1.67m for males and 1.64m for females.


  - Other: No prior convictions; character references required.


- Specialists Cadre (e.g., drivers, mechanics, medical aides, and more):


  - Educational Requirement: Minimum of four credits in GCE Ordinary Level, SSCE/NECO, or equivalent (including English Language and Mathematics) in no more than two sittings.


  - Experience: At least three years in a relevant field, plus Trade Test certification.


  - Age: 18–28 years.


  - Other: Specialized skills in areas like ICT, engineering, or healthcare will be prioritized.


The PSC has stressed that selections will be strictly merit-based, with no room for influence peddling.

2. Create an account using a valid email and phone number.


3. Fill out the online form with personal details, educational qualifications, and upload required documents (e.g., birth certificate, educational certificates, and passport photos).


4. Submit your application and print the acknowledgment slip for reference.


Portal Opening: Monday, December 15, 2025.  


Closing Date: Sunday, January 25, 2026. 


The PSC has issued a strong advisory to applicants: Beware of fraudsters promising shortcuts or demanding payments for recruitment favors. "This process is 100% free at every stage—any solicitation for money is a scam," the commission warned. Successful candidates will be notified via official channels only, and all shortlisting will be published transparently on the portal.
