INEC Proposes N873.78 Billion For 2027 General Elections, Allocates Over #200 Billion To Election Technology

 

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has proposed a total budget of N873.78 billion for the conduct of the 2027 general elections.

INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, presented the proposed budget before the joint committee of the Senate and House of Representatives on Electoral Matters.

The proposed budget is divided into five major components:

#375.75 billion - Election operations #92.31 billion - Administrative costs

#209.21 billion - Election technology costs

N154.90 billion - Capital costs #41.61 billion - Miscellaneous expenses
