President Bola Tinubu has again met with Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, as the political crisis in the state continues to simmer.
Presidency sources confirmed the meeting held Sunday night at the President’s official residence at the Aso Villa
Details of the discussions have not yet emerged , but it comes amid fresh tensions over leadership recognition within the state and stalled plans by lawmakers to impeach the governor.
The latest intervention follows recent reports that President Tinubu urged Governor Fubara, a member of the APC, to recognise Mr Wike a PDP member but minister in the APC led federal government as the party’s leader in Rivers State.
This is believed to be about the fourth known time the President has stepped in to resolve the prolonged political standoff between both men.
