The Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) has announced the appointment of Professor Ikechukwu N.S. Dozie as its 9th substantive Vice-Chancellor.
The announcement follows the conclusion of a rigorous recruitment process conducted by the University's 13th Governing Council chaired by Sen. Jack Tilley-Gyado, OFR, CON.
Professor Dozie formally received his letter of appointment from the Council Chairman, in the company of the outgoing Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mrs. Nnenna N. Oti, whose tenure ends on June 18, 2026.
Before his appointment, Professor Dozie is the outgoing Vice-Chancellor of K.O. Mbadiwe University (KOMU) Ideato, Imo State. He brings a wealth of academic and administrative experience, having previously served FUTO in several key capacities, including as Dean, School of Health Technology; Member of FUTO's 11th Governing Council, and Director, Linkages and Advancement; among other notable positions.
