In this edition of the Good Leadership and Governance Series With Dr. Charles Ogugbuaja (GLGSWDCO), the team, in spirit, beamed our searchlight, spotted and dedicated this work to the Chief of Staff to the Abia State Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, Ph.D. The painstaking independent observation of the writing series has the following to explain on why this edition tilted to this great and admirable icon of our time.
To start, it is appropriate to unequivocally and unambiguously posit that the Abia State Governor, who is greatly loved by many Nigerians, His Excellency, Gov Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, made an excellent choice some three years ago by appointing Pastor Caleb Ajagba, Ph.D., as his loyal, productive and go - getter Chief of Staff, in addition to other political appointees and aides.
Pastor Ajagba is a good family man identified largely with good things by many persons- very humble, humorous, dexterous, sagacious, and capacious. His emotional tone level and temperament at work and at unofficial areas, are superb. He knows his bureaucratic and technocratic onions; conscientious, tenacious and meticulous in tackling issues, without any signs of stress on his face despite numerous daily official engagements. He is imbued with workaholic infectious attributes akin to his dear master, His Excellency, Gov Alex Chioma Otti, in thinking ahead on how to generationally, launch Abia to greatness.
He has an exceptional edge on avalanche of things. In the things of God, he is deep -rooted, being an ordained pastor. In the educational spheres, he has earned the apex degree one can achieve in the citadel of learning, that is, Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.). In the business world, he has achieved greatness. Anywhere he ventures, is greatness personified. In human structure, he is super handsome. His style of politics is very admirable. He is a good human resource manager. He dresses publicly clean at all times. While others are ventilating, attacking opponents with verbal wars, he is urging and appealing for calmness to political opponents, opining to them to support and embrace the intentional good governance and leadership brought and entrenched by Gov Otti, to the good people of Abia State, and by extension, to Nigerians.
Pastor Ajagba, is people centric. The epicentre of what occupies his mind, is how to make others establish themselves and be happy, just as he has been blessed by God. He is also contented with what he has. He derives joy in telling any audience that he has his only country home bungalow sitting at a massive compound, located in Umuezegu - Nsulu, in Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area of Abia State, which he built long before he was appointed the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Abia State. The Late Tanzanian President, Dr. Julius Nyerere, had similar character trait. After serving Tanzania impeccably, unblemished, for years, he built only a bungalow, and owned only a Peugeot 404 car. There are others like that. That is what any society needs.
While others are thinking of the next election, Pastor Ajagba, is bothered in development - minded creative thoughts and ideas he sends across to his boss, Gov Otti, which are now cascading to distinctive Abia of our collective dreams.
His contributions in moving the train of the Otti Administration since 2023 are simply, fantabulous and catalytic.
The pastor's human relational approach is simply, wonderful. No one who encounters him can talk ill of him. He thinks out of the box, with great thinking caps, humongously for others, even in problem solving parlance.
Such people, like a comet, are rarely found in a generation. We are humbled and privileged to have a befitting (square peg in a square hole) Pastor in a serious minded government.
WRITER'S NOTE: We say congratulations to Pastor Caleb Ajagba, Ph.D. for proving your mettle. We still have many fascinating and inspiring things to let us know about Pastor Ajagba. It is our prayer that his upliftment will be ceaseless. Amen.
