2027: US Govt Rejects Tinubu’s Lobby For Endorsement – Firm

A US-based advocacy firm, Von Batten-Montague-York, has alleged that the American government turned down requests by President Bola Tinubu to meet with US President Donald Trump ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The firm claimed that President Bola Tinubu’s plan to attend the United Nations General Assembly, UNGA, was to meet Trump and secure his endorsement ahead of Nigeria’s presidential election.

In a post on its verified X handle, the firm claimed that the American government turned down the planned engagement.

It stated that any expected endorsement of Tinubu by Trump ahead of the Nigerian presidential election was now “dead”, alongside the proposed White House meeting.

According to the firm, Tinubu’s effort to secure the meeting had cost Nigerian taxpayers $9 million, adding that Tinubu had been made to understand that he was a “liability” to the United States.

The development comes after the Tinubu government confirmed that he would not attend the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York.
