The campaign convoy of the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Peter Obi, has reportedly come under attack in Calabar, Cross River State.
Ester Umoh, a media aide to the NDC flagbearer, disclosed the attack in a social media post on Wednesday.
“Thugs are trying to attack our convoy," she said while raising the alarm over the incident.
The development comes shortly after Obi, alongside his wife, Margaret, and his running mate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, arrived in Calabar for a town hall meeting.
The alleged attack comes barely two months after Obi’s convoy faced a similar incident in Benue State, where thugs blocked the Boko Road by the Air Force Base in an attempt to prevent the former Anambra State governor from gaining access into the state.
In another development, a video has surfaced online showing a man distributing N2,500 to a crowd of people following an All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign rally in Calabar, Cross River State.
The rally, held at the U.J. Esuene Stadium on Monday, was attended by Vice-President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Governor Bassey Otu, APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda and other party leaders.
In the video circulating online, a man is seen handing out N2,500 notes to members of the crowd.
Meanwhile, a separate video from the rally has also emerged, showing a woman expressing dissatisfaction with President Bola Tinubu.
In the footage, the woman was heard saying, “Na lie, we don’t want Tinubu, e no good at all.”
