According to FIFA, published on July 9, 2026, France will face Morocco in the FIFA World Cup quarterfinal at Gillette Stadium in Boston. The match is scheduled to kick off at 9 PM Nigerian time.

The match will be a repeat of the 2022 World Cup semifinal in Qatar, where France defeated Morocco 2-0 on their way to the final. The Atlas Lions now have another chance to face the former world champions again.

France have won all five of their matches at the tournament and remain one of the favourites to lift the trophy. Captain Kylian Mbappe has been in outstanding form and leads the scoring chart with seven goals.

Morocco secured their place in the quarterfinal after a 3-0 victory over Canada in the round of 16. The North Africans have once again shown their quality and will be hoping to make more history against Didier Deschamps’ side.

A victory for France would send them into a third consecutive World Cup semifinal. Morocco, meanwhile, are aiming to become the first African nation to reach back-to-back World Cup semifinals. Football fans across Nigeria will be watching closely as one of the tournament’s biggest matches gets underway tonight.
