President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is meeting with governors elected on the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform at the State House, Abuja.
The governors, under the aegis of the Progressives Governors’ Forum (PGF), entered a closed-door meeting with the President shortly after 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
The meeting followed an earlier session of the National Economic Council (NEC), chaired by Vice President Kashim Shettima, which the governors attended at the State House.
The agenda for the meeting with the President had not yet been disclosed at the time of filing this report, while the closed-door engagement was still underway.
The meeting comes eight days after campaigns officially commenced for the 2027 general election, in line with the timetable released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
It also comes five days after the APC unveiled the membership of its Presidential Campaign Council, naming former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, Director-General.
